About Sudden Sky
Sudden Sky is an album by the band Crown The Empire, published in 2019. The album features themes of the mind, mental illness, and what is has been like accepting one self in front of so many people. The singer and band members open up about their experiences on the journey to fame, while keeping them in a way that feels relatable to the audience. The sounds of the vocals and instrumentals are very grunge/ pop-punk like with mixtures of electronic without.
The albums message was represented within this new cover by bringing in a sculpted wax brain, showing the materiality of the mind and how it can so easily be altered. These themes of mental illness were very present throughout the album and has made the band a lot of what it is today. The electronic rock sound is represented through the glitching of the brain and background, visualizing the effects and sounds the band uses. As well, the album name itself, Sudden Sky, gets incorporated into the background in the form of clouds, but also plays a role in showing the fuzziness and mind fog one can experience with mental illness.
